Kyme Hallion
Kyme's experience started working at Adelaide Children's hospital Photography / Video unit before joining ADS 7 Adelaide as a studio cameraman then NWS 9 News Adelaide before moving to TCN 9 in Sydney for prime time current events program, A Current Affair . In 1989 he moved to Singapore - and forgot to move back home.
Kyme spent 2 years working for Singapore local television, then known as SBC, as a Senior Cameraman and Trainer. He then joined BBC World and enjoyed 10 years covering the Asia region for News and current affairs events, experiencing everything from unrest, natural disasters, and politics to – you name it!
It was during this time Hallion Productions Pte Ltd began, growing rapidly into a regional affair which now boasts offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Shanghai and Hong Kong, serving broadcast and corporate clients from the USA, Europe and Asia.
Kyme was recently the guest presenter at the Panasonic Varicam seminars in Singapore, as well as the Singapore Media Development Authority's supported Lighting for HD seminars, which presented to over 250 of Singapore's leading HD camera operators.
Brett Smith
Brett Smith has worked in the broadcast industry for 31 years, as an engineer, technical operator, technical journalist and Asian Broadcast Sales Manager. His career began at Channel 9 in Sydney as a television engineer, after which he moved on to live audio production for Channel 9, audio studio engineering for Rank electronics, followed by Education documentary making for the University of Technology, Sydney. This was followed by work as broadcast technical journalist for Asian, European and Australian broadcast magazines.
Brett moved to sales and a consulting role to manufacturers establishing themselves in the Asia broadcast market. He has been traveling to South East Asia for the last 19 years for companies including KE Remote Systems, Miller Tripods, Codan Broadcast, Lowel-Lights and Hamlet Test and Measurement, and has attended all Broadcast Asia exhibitions since 1990.
Brett was responsible for co-organizing the recent Lighting for HD Seminars in Singapore, which were supported by the Singapore Media Development Authority, and presented by Kyme Hallion and Don Bachmeier.
