You have three months to interpret life in Putrajaya at your leisure! What’s more, besides winning cash prizes, your winning entries will be exhibited at the Putrajaya Arts Festival Photography / Watercolour Exhibition and will be made available for sale!

Prizes will be presented at the official launch of the Exhibition.

Who can participate?
Malaysian citizens born BEFORE or ON 1 Jan 1986.

What are the entry fees?
RM30.00 (non refundable) per entry.
Please make cheque / draft / postal order payable to “Malaysian Watercolour Organization”.

How many entries per participant?
You may send ONLY one piece of work.

What’s the closing date?
All entries must reach the following address before 5.00 p.m., 10 November 2007. No entries will be accepted after this deadline.

How will the winners be notified?
All winners will be notified via mail or e-mail and invited to the exhibition. All winners will be announced at the prize-giving ceremony.

What are the entry requirements?

  • Your entry must be AN ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR PAINTING (without frame, glass & mounting), painted in 2007, and have never been exhibited publicly.
  • Your painting must be rendered in watercolour on watercolour paper (as in Western painting).
  • Either of two sizes can be submitted:
    1. Standard watercolour sheet, about 56 x 76cm
    2. Half sheet about 38cm x 56cm
  • Please attach a completed entry form to your artwork, together with:
    1. A recent, clear and good 3R (or larger) photograph of yourself (preferably taken outdoors).
    2. A copy of your up-to-date biodata (typed or printed)
    3. A photocopy of your MyKad.
    4. The RM30.00 entry fee in cheque / draft / postal order
PLEASE NOTE THAT EXCEPT FOR THE PAINTING, ALL OTHER ATTACHMENTS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

What are the Judging Criteria?
Entries will be judged on the following:

  • Idea and presentation
  • Relevance to the theme “This is the Life!”
  • Mastery of watercolour

Rules & Regulations

  • Qualified entries will be judged by a Panel of Judges invited by the Organizers. The judges’ decision shall be final, and no appeal entertained.
  • Works which do not comply with the entry requirements shall be excluded from the judging.
  • The Organizers reserve the right to reproduce the works submitted for any purpose by any means in any form.
  • All works submitted, unless sold, will be returned via mail within 2 weeks of the Exhibition.
  • All works sold at the Exhibition shall contribute a 30% commission to the Malaysian Watercolour Organization. Prize-winning works purchased by the organizers shall provide a 40% discount but are exempted from paying the commission.
  • Entrants are to insure their work at their own cost. The organizers shall not be liable for any damage, deterioration in any form, or loss of your work while in the custody of the Organizers.
